What’s a tapenade?
Tapenade [TA-puh-nahd, ta-pen-AHD] originated in France's Provence
region and became popular after World War II. Tapenade is a blend of
chopped olives, capers, olive oil, and seasonings; it is typically
served as a hors d’oeuvre and makes a wonderful stylish appetizer
for a cocktail party. It is often used as a condiment, such as a
relish on sandwich or served with crudités.Try our tapenade as an
appetizer at your party with your favorite wine -- our Black Olive
Tapenade goes exceptionally well with Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet
Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon. If you’re a white wine lover, try
either the Artichoke Tapenade or Green Olive Tapenade with
Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. The Green Olive Tapenade pairs
beautifully with a full-bodied oak-aged Chardonnay, but this
tapenade is robust enough to accompany a hearty red.
